Erbil….or Erbila…or the Four Gods’ city

One of the largest, most important, and oldest cities in north Iraq … dating back to 2300 BC … and now it is the capital of the Kurdistan region .

Day 1 :

Departure Evening from Damascus International Airport with Cham Wings Airlines – Arrival to Erbil – then Hotel Room’s Reception – Rest .

Day 2 : City Tour ( Erbil Castel – old city shopping center )

Breakfast at the hotel, then start our historical day to visit :

Erbil Castel: It looks beautiful as a magical castle stretching along the horizon in the heart of Erbil, an old hill with a height of between 25 to 30 meters above the ground. On top of this hill, you will see one of the oldest cities in the world. Known as the Citadel of Erbil, when it was established, it includes the entire city, consisting of about 500 traditional houses.

Inside the castle, there is many Several sections we have to see which is: sques – the castle bath – diwans – lodges

Museums inside the castle: Kurdish Carpet Museum – Museum of Kurdish Clothing and Textiles – Museum of Gems – Castle Museum – Exhibition of the Turkmen Heritage House – Museum of Syriac Heritage ..

Erbil Castel Market (Al-Qaisariya Market): It is the oldest current market in Erbil, as it was built in the nineteenth century after the population spread in new neighborhoods around the Castle of Erbil … It is located in the heart of the city near the historic Citadel of Erbil, and it is a bazaar for a number of popular markets in the city center.

The market is divided into categories. and you will find handicrafts and the best types of honey and nuts, which Kurdistan is famous of , as well as good-tasting sweets. There is a great similarity between the Caesarea of Erbil and the Caesarea of Damascus , such as Hamidiyeh and Midhat Pasha.

Day 3 : Erbil City Tour

Breakfast at the hotel, then start our tour to discover the city of Beautiful Erbil .

Visiting the Mudhafaria Minaret : It is the second largest historical landmark in Erbil, as it was built during the reign of Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi.

Visiting Jalil Khalil Al-Khayyat Mosque: It is considered as one of the most important and famous mosques in Erbil, and is characterized by modern architecture. Its style is a mixture of the Fatimid, Abbasid and Umayyad architectural styles.

Visiting Sami Abdul Rahman Park: This park is located in the center of Erbil, and it is one of the largest parks in Iraq and the second largest park in the Middle East.

It contains many games, restaurants, the Erbil International Fair, the Olive Public Library, theaters, a horse racing arena, a summer cinema, two artificial lakes with boats for visitors, and a number of monuments and statues .

Day 4 : Korek Mountain

Breakfast at the hotel, then Go to visit Korek Mountain, which is part of the Zagros mountain range. It is 50 km away from the Iranian border and about 2115 meters above sea level.

This mountain is an important station for mountain climbers, walkers among snow-covered paths, and adventure seekers who find their destination in the cable car, which rises to 75 meters and extends for a distance of 4 kilometers. Where the mountain allows young people to practice skiing, paragliding and extreme sports such as climbing.

Visiting the city of Soran: its called Diyana, which means in Kurdish the place of Christians, and it has a large number of restaurants, cafes, and many commercial markets.

Visiting the city of Rwands: It is a valley north of the city of Erbil and enjoys stunning natural beauty, small lakes and amazingly beautiful waterfalls .

Back to Erbil to rest .

Day 5:

Breakfast at the hotel, then go to visit Erbil Zoo : it is the largest in Iraq and one of the largest zoos in the Middle East, which opened in 2020 , and includes more than 180 different kind of animals and birds, including rare and endangered species

Visit Majdi Land: the largest city of games in Erbil

Visit Family Mall: one of the largest shopping centers in Erbil

Day 6 :

Breakfast at hotel – free day for leisure

Day 7 :

Breakfast at the hotel and free time for shopping .

Evening , move to Erbil International Airport to return back to Syria with Cham Wings Airlines and with our best wishes of a safe and comfortable trip.
